Viewing Results

Content Analysis results are available on any public Page, Post or Custom Post Type, and can be viewed:

  • In the table list of Pages / Posts / Custom Post Types
  • When editing an individual Page / Post / Custom Post Type
  • In the WordPress Admin Bar when viewing Pages / Posts / Custom Post Types

Table Lists

When viewing a list of Pages, Posts or Custom Post Types, a Content Analysis column is displayed with a simple tick or cross symbol.

  • Tick: Content Analysis tests passed successfully.
  • Cross: One or more Content Analysis tests failed.

Editing Content

When editing a Page, Post or Custom Post Type, the results of the Content Analysis will be displayed, typically below the main Visual Editor, by clicking on the Content Analysis tab:

If this is the first time you’re creating or editing content since activating the Content Analysis Addon, you’ll see a notice telling you that results will be displayed once you have saved the content.

Results are broken down as follows:

To understand how each test works, refer to the below table:

Test Description
Overall If all the below tests pass, the overall Content Analysis result is a pass.
Title The title should be less than 60 characters
Meta Description The meta description should be less than 160 characters
Index The content must not have the noindex option set, for it to be eligible for indexing in search engine results
Text Length Content should be at least 300 characters in length
Headings There is only one <h1> heading in the Page, Post or Custom Post Type
Sub Headings There are <h2> through <h6> heading(s) in the Page, Post or Custom Post Type
Images Your Page has at least one image
Image Alt Tags All <img> images have alt tags
Outbound Links There is at least one link to an outbound (off-site) URL
Readability The flesch reading ease score is above 60

Admin Bar

When viewing a single Page, Post or Custom Post Type on the frontend WordPress web site, a Content Analysis result is displayed in the WordPress Admin Bar with a simple tick or cross symbol.

  • Tick: Content Analysis tests passed successfully.
  • Cross: One or more Content Analysis tests failed.

If you don’t see a black WordPress Admin Bar at the top of the screen, navigate to Users > Your Profile in the WordPress Administration interface, and make sure that the Show Toolbar when viewing site option is enabled.
